Been a while huh?
Many times blogs begin with "sorry I haven't written in a while...." But, well, I have the best excuse of em all. Micaiah. I am still in awe that God has given us such an awesome gift.
He is growing like crazy and is behaving like an angel (most of the time). He sleeps an average of 6 or 7 hours a night, normally in 2 chunks. And let me tell you, it was so great to have my mom here to help for 2 weeks! The baby shares the guest room with visitors and so my mom took care of Kai unless he needed to eat in the night! *Trumpets sound and chorus of "hallelujah" plays*. My mom left on Wednesday after a great visit. She is now convinced that she was created to live in a warm climate. In three weeks, she got more of a tan then we have from living here for 3 months. One of the highlights of my time with mom was last Saturday. We spent the day traveling ALL over Costa Rica. We started out at a coffee plantation, went to a volcano, hummingbird gallery, cloud forest (forest that is at such a high altitude it is above the clouds), rain forest hike, and river safari near Nicaragua. It was so cool to be able to spend some quality time with my mom in that regard. Unfortunately, Dena and Micaiah stayed home, but had lots of visitors. But the most incredible thing about our day around the country was the opportunity that God gave me to share the gospel with our tour guide over lunch. For more on that, you'll have to read our April-May issue of the newsletter that will be available this week to download from www.globalinnes.com/news.htm.
So, with my mom gone, we had about 48 hours to adjust to life with just the three of us and then (just in the nick of time), Dena's mom came in last night. She is estatic to be able to spend time with her first grandson and this morning must have spent 2 hours just starring at him... it was so cute! And this afternoon, Dena, her mom (Lydia) and Kai head off to a baby shower that has been planned by a friend of ours from School.
Mentioning school, it's going good. I am amazed how much easier it is to understand Spanish grammar now that I have a personal tutor! We are flying through the lessons, covering what other classes take 2 weeks to go over in 2 days!
I think that's it for now, we are heading to the fruit market in a few, but I knew that I needed to take a minute and let all my friends around the world know what's happening with us. And of course, I have to put some new pics of Kai on the blog (see below).
