Top 5 Reasons I Think I Am Learning Spanish:
  1. When we went to Denny's (YES! WE HAVE ONE! PTL!) the other morning, I found myself speaking in Spanglish and not even realizing it.
  2. I can talk to Taxi drivers beyond just telling them where to go.
  3. I got in the high 90's on 2 tests this week
  4. Our Landlord has stopped asking to talk to Dena every time he comes over.
  5. I ordered takeout over the phone the other day and the correct order actuallly made it to our house!

Top 5 Reasons I Wonder If I Am Not Learning Spanish:
  1. Even after I thought I confirmed with a Taxi driver a price for a 2 way trip, he tried to charge me the agreed amount for 1 way.
  2. I still make stupid mistakes, like using the verb for "to be" that means permanantly rather then temporarily. For example: "Soy hambre!" (I am forever hungry) instead of "Tengo hambre!" (I'm hungry )
  3. I still don't know some basic vocab words like "stay".
  4. I sometimes want to put my head between a door and doorframe and close the door repeatedly instead of going to phonetics class.
  5. I can't think of a fifth reason, but this is my blog and I don't have to write a fifth if I don't want to.
By the way, more pics of Kai have been requested. Here they are :)

I have a #5. When giving a presentation in class, your teacher corrects you longer than it takes you to do the presentation. Good times!
