Keely Update
This is an update we recieved late last night from Keely's Aunt Janna (Note: We did not go to Illinois):
Here's the scoop:
When I arrived at the hospital, I found the situation more serious than I had even realized. My mom said she had about 7 doctors at the first hospital all huddled around her, testing, poking and becoming afraid themselves. They called for a team of specialists to come from the other hospital to meet them and when they arrived the first doctors greeted them by saying, "Glad to see you!" Anyway...it looked pretty grim at times and some seemed surprised that she made it to the second hospital!!! Sooo.....A BIG PRAISE THE LORD and thank you for praying her through!!! Thank you, Lord for your mercies!!
She was in Intensive Care for most of the afternoon with breathing aids and monitors. The doctors say that she has asthma and an attack was probably triggered by her cold. She is on a nebulizer now and steroids. She will most likely have to continue with medications on a regular basis.
By early evening she was taken out of intensive care and put into a regular room where she is still being monitored. Her breathing is not normal yet, but it no longer appears to be life threatening.
The blessing/tear jerker of the day: watching Keely laying in bed, hooked up and trying to sing along to "Jesus Loves Me" while wearing a breathing mask.
love to all,
