And the Sickness is.....
Well, it's been confirmed by the Tropical Disease Unit in Lima, Peru. I've got Dengue Fever. The good news is it is does not appear to be the most sever form... they actually called it "Classic". I will have some more tests tommorow (most probably) to rule out a hospital stay, so for now I just take lots of fluids and treat the symptoms.
I should be sick for another week or less, then weak for about a month... not to bad huh?
I'm in pain and my throat hurts a lot, but my wife is taking good care of me.
PS: Thought I'd do a self shot here to get some extra pity.

So is this some sort of right of passage for Missionaries? You have a horrible local disease - 10 "hardcore missionairy" points.
If not it should be - it would give you a reason to suffer - "i'm doing it for the points, I'm doing it for the points..."

im sorry to here that your sick my mom eneded up with the same exact thing i dont know if its the same type but they said that it was not severe anyways im improving my spiritual lifestyle tommorrow im goin out to get the message and i will get subscribed to those magazines and i have decided that i am going to start doing a bible study amongst myself every wednesday night ive already finished the rest of the devotions that i didnt do in peru and im totally looking foward to going back next year well hope you feel beter and have a great summer !!!! **
