Did I mention I love Costa Rica? I'm sitting outside on our porch, drinking coffee (which is awesome in CR by the way) and reading my Sunday Comics of "Get Fuzzy", "Pearls Before Swine & "Calvin & Hobbs". Anyway, I love living here.
So I decided yesterday to have a Super Bowl party. Won't be a huge bash but there'll be a few guys over watching guys hit each other in a few inches of snow. Should bring back memories of our childhoods ;)
In the meantime, Dena is gonna make some cookies and an incredible cheese/meat/salsa dip for chips... hmmm.... Cholesterol....
There's no church here this morning. Very few churches are actually having a service because today is the election. Shouldn't be too eventful... In CR they have a law that is definitely different then I've observed before. It is illegal to purchase or sell alcohol the day before, the day of and the day after the election. It stems back from when alcohol induced riots after elections were fairly common in Latin America. I guess the law is in effect in quite a few Latin Countries.
However, CR business are upset about it this year. CR is very tourism based and there are thousands of Americans and Canadians in the country at any one time and many of them would normally go to a bar and watch the game while having a drink. Some businesses are claiming they will lose thousands of dollars because the drinking ban is in effect on Super Bowl Sunday.
Well, I had better run. It has taken me a half hour to write this because I have been getting emails and chatting with friends all over the world.
I also just got word that another one of our Youth Group kids, Jordan Tatton is getting married in August! Wow! Congrats my man. Dena just pointed out that this is 2 of our youth's that are getting married this summer... way to make us feel old guys!
