I'm back!
As you may have noticed I took a little but of heitus from blogging. I'm not even really sure why. It wasn't like one of those moments where I decided I need to distance myself from technology, or people... I guess I've just been so wrapped up in what's been happening in the real world that I forgot about the techno world. But have no fear!!! *Trumpets Sound* I HAVE RETURNED!
To get you up to date I will post in true blogger form, the last several weeks in bulletted and picture form!
* Mothers Day Weekend we flew up to Chicago and surprised Dena's family with a visit from the new baby! Dena's Mom and Stepdad were the only ones that knew this was happening. It was so cool to see the faces of everyone when we walked into the house. We were honestly worried that Dee's grandparents might have some sort of heart attack. This was a great time reconnecting with family and friends.
* When we were home, a couple of friends hosted a get together of some of our friends so we could see people! Seeing my guys Jeremy and John was definatlely a highlight and I am so thankful for their love and accountability!
* My Dad also got to meet Micaiah for the first time. He drove 8 hours one way to spend time with Kai and they both absolutley fell in love with each other. Seeing my Dad with Kai was probably one of the most incredible days of my life, but having to leave was probably one of the hardest... more on that in another post.
* The following weekend, Pastor to Missionaries Jim and Jeanette Vermalyia came to Costa Rica to check in and make sure we hadn't gone crazy or something ;) We had a great time at the beach with them and the Knox family (the other Wesleyan family studying Spanish here)
* We are now in our Second Trimester at ILE. Dena is loving her classes of Cultural Anthropology and Grammar and I am... well... surviving in my Grammar and Conversation classes.
* World cup fever hit hard here last week as Costa Rica and Germany started of the compitition. It was a national holiday here so people could watch the game. Our entire school met up in the chapel to watch the game on the projector. To bad CR didn't win, but the fought hard!
* I've started working with an incredible youth ministry here. I feel like I am back in my element. It is the International Youth Group that reaches out to Missionary Kids as well as other. This is an excerpt from an email I sent my friend about the group: "Ages 11-19 and NO cliques! Not even between the ages. It’s mostly Missionary Kids, and that common bond seems to overshadow any other differences that would be clique causing in NA. It’s built on youth leadership and has an adult leader and 7 teens that make decisions (sorta like a board). Saturday I lead a team of teens on a construction service project, performing various tasks at a home for abandoned children outside of San Jose. What a great experience and joy to be able to serve these children."
*This last week Micaiah learned to roll over all by himself! WOW! He is just growing so fast. I love it! Soon we'll be able to have real Saturday morning wrestling matches and I will teach him to fish and all that fun dad and son stuff;)
That's it for now, but check back often.

welcome back... we've missed you.
Good to hear things are going well for you and that you have started a youth group.
I am now an assistant pastor (of multi-cultural ministries) at Metro Wes...
oh and the Broadway Cafe has new owners... I inquired several months back and forgot to tell you.
Hey Ell! Glad to see you're back. I've been missing your posts!!
Very cute father/son picture. Happy Father's day!
Hey Elliot! I have a question for your wife really, but I guess it'll have to do to ask you :) Did she have a water birth by any chance?? I think I *might* have remembered seeing a pic of something that looked to be a water birth but I'm not sure. We're expecting our second and are looking into a possible water birth and I was wondering if she could share her experience with me :) My email is radernjess@hotmail.com and if she wants to get in touch with me there (that is...if she has TIME:)) I would very much appreciate it! Thanks....and cute pics btw!
He is growing up so fast! Well, so is Gabby :) DOn't you just LOVE being a parent!
