Wow! I've really gotten rotten at keeping this thing up to date. Are people even still reading it. I suppose that doesn't even matter as I have tried to make this a spot, not just to communicate what's happening, but also just to chronicle my life and thoughts.
Lots has happened since my last post but I won't bore you with all the details, I'll just try to pick up as if I'd not had yet another hiatus from the blog world.
About a month ago, the lady who normally cares for Micaiah in the morning while we are at school was rushed to the hospital with some stomach problems. The surgery that followed her resulted in what her doctors expected would be a 2-3 month recovery. With great sympathy for our friend, we found ourselves in quite a pickle... that was, "...and what of Micaiah?" We needed someone to care for him while we were at Language School and we needed it fast. Well, on Saturday the call went out and by Tuesday, our answer had arrived... in other words, on Saturday we called Dena's Grandmother in Texas and on Tuesday, picked her up from the airport. Great Grandmother (or GeeGee as she is referred to here) to the rescue. She has been a saint and a blessing over the last 3 weeks and we will be just heartbroken to see her leave on Thursday, not to mention, Micaiah will surely miss his playtime pal. Bellow are some pics from her time here. On Sunday, we went out into the countryside, many of these pictures at at the La Paz Waterfall.
Other notable things include the fact that I have finally gotten our summer Video Postcard online. You can download it on the news and pics section of www.globalinnes.com. Hopefully this will be a seasonal thing we do to keep in touch with people back in Canada and the U.S.
This trimester is quickly coming to a close. Next trimester Dena will be taking a Translation class which will be a wonderful skill for translating bible study resources from English to Spanish for those we will be working with in Peru, Argentina and Chile.
I have opted to take the FARO program. This is a Spanish program based on the LAMP method for learning new languages. I will spend less time in a classroom and more time out in the community conversing with native speakers. I imagine this will be extremely beneficial.
That's it for now. Hope to write more soon.
